A laptop today gives you the freedom to work from any location in the world. You can take it on holiday, with you on business trips, and even to the office. The ease in being able to pack one up in a bag and take it with you is one reason for its growing popularity. But what do you do when sitting on a plane and it isn’t that comfortable balancing your laptop on your knees, or when at home working and a big desk is too much but the coffee table is too low? You look into finding the right laptop desk to fit your needs.

Coming in a variety of styles, sizes and options, you can choose from one that sits on your knees to one that comes on a stand that folds down. It is easy to choose which fits your lifestyle if you know exactly what you’ll need it for first.

One popular style is the flat model which sits right on your knees. They can come with some or all of the options that make your work easier and more comfortable. Like expanding so you have room for your mouse, tilting so that you can work with your laptop inclined and even built in ventilators for those laptops that heat up quickly. All you do with those is plug the cord attached to the fan directly into the USB port of your computer. Since they are flat, they are compact and easy to store, with some even folding in half.

Another option with the flat one is purchasing one that has legs that will fold down so that the laptop is not resting on your knees but is at the same level. These are also made with the option of ventilator fans and to expand so you can have more room to plug a keypad or set a small notebook on the side.

For more versatility, you could even choose one that folds down completely into a proper stand. These also give the option of using it as a flat model on the knees or above the knees, but the added benefit of having a little table if you prefer that way. And it stores just as easily, folding back up to pack away quickly.

Laptop desks also come in a stand form. A more modern one will have shelves and a top that swings out. This gives you a bit more workspace or room for other things you may need while working on the computer. It takes up less space than a full size desk, allowing you to swing everything back in place when not using it.

Of course, like the flat models, some stands also come with the option of inclining for those that don’t like working on a flat surface. These generally come made with a rough type of material on top for your mouse, eliminating the need of a mouse pad when you work on it.

And just like the flat options that can be folded and unfolded, you will find a variety of stands that do the same thing. Allowing you to fold and pack them away when you don’t need them, and easily unfold when they are in need. This is perfect for small working spaces also, as it can easily be tucked away, out of sight, when not needed.

These are available in so many different styles, materials, shapes and colors, that it doesn’t matter whether you are using a notebook or a full sized portable, you’ll find the right one for you. A laptop desk allows you to work comfortably in whatever style you want no matter where you are in the world, or in the house.
